I am from Sydney and love food. I cook all the time, dine out as much as my budget allows (sometimes more) and I research ingredients and recipes just to get a better understanding of what is out there, although I think this is something no-one can master completely. I come from a mixed background including Greek/Cypriot/Egyptian heritage and hence am exposed to a broad range of flavours and techniques. The people I have learnt a lot about are my two Yiayia’s and my Mum. They have passed down recipes and family traditions that I hope to share with you all, although I am still always learning from them and also other family and friends, who I am constantly bugging to cook with me.

My occupation? Well I am an Interior Architect and am really interested in spaces and how important spaces are to shaping a person’s experience of a room or building. This is particularly important in restaurants, café’s, kitchens and other communal areas where other factors such as cuisine and use apply. I do freelance consulting work and am always stumbling into places just to admire their settings and to get ideas.

Last year I embarked on a big European trip and discovered London, parts of France and bits of Italy. Throughout my archives are reviews, stories recipes I gathered on my way.

Now I definitely have the travel bug and am planning my next big trip, this time for 3 months minimum to do a round the world trip. I plan to do parts of South America, NY, Spain and Turkey….Although I will be going in 2012, I need to save so I can eat my way through these cities. One thing I am not is a photographer, although I am trying to learn. I only have an entry level SLR, a Canon 450D but will be acquiring a nice new MACRO lens very soon so that I can firstly take shots in low light but also to get fantastic detail on my close ups.
